This street in Newcastle presents an architectural vision that feels almost otherworldly when viewed from below. It is the only place in the city where I instinctively look upward.
At street level, however, everyday banality persists. Recurring figures move through the space, grounding the architecture in routine gestures and familiar postures.
The drawing considers this tension between aspiration and ordinariness — how structures can project ambition while remaining embedded in the lived patterns of daily life.
